1976 romantic musical film *”Chitchor”*
Let’s start the day with Basu Chatterjee’s 1976 romantic musical film *”Chitchor”* directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film starred Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab. They were supported by Vijayendra Ghatge, A K Hangal, Dina Pathak, Ritu Kamal, C. S. Dubey, Shail Chatruvedi and Master Raju. The film was a box office hit. The principal shooting of film was spread over 25 days at neighbouring hill stations of Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra. A few scenes were also shot in Kihim village near Alibag. A bungalow in Panchgani was the setting on Zarina Wahab's home, where many keys scenes, including the songs, like Gori tera gaon bada pyaara were shot. Bindiya Goswami was almost signed for the film but was rejected due to her weight. The film won 2 national award, best male playback singer to Yesudas for the song “ Gori Tera gaon bada pyaara” and Best child artist award to Master Raju.
