Let’s start the day with Dilip Dhawan’s 1982 drama film *”Saath Saath”* written and directed by Raman Kumar. The film starred Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval. They were supported by Satish Shah, Rakesh Bedi, Neena Gupta, Avtar Gill, A K Hangal, Sudha Chopra, Geeta Kak and Anjan Srivastav. In 1970s and 1980s, small budget movies began to be produced which told the stories of boys and girls next door rather than the usual make believe stories that had little resemblance to reality. Many actors in the film had their screen names same as their original names. In 1970s, Amol Palekar and Vidhya Sinha were the biggest “stars” of such movies. In 1980s, Faarooque Sheikh and Dipti Nawal became the leading “stars” of such movies.
