:*Can A Father Be So Heartless As To Refuse To Even Recognize His Dead Son's Body ?*
It sounds strange and very bitter to hear... but knowing the reason behind what happened in a Delhi jail on May 8, 1915, will make your hair stand on end and your eyes well up with tears.
Let's learn in today's edition of Knowledge Adda about the story of an anonymous revolutionary who risked everything for the country.
The story is from 1912. *Master Amirchand* was a teacher at a school in Delhi. He was deeply involved in the country's freedom struggle.
The British captured him and his young son and put them in jail.
The British tortured their son so much in jail that he died in his own room.
The British officer was very cunning. He took *Master Amirchand* to his son's body and said,
"Just say once with your mouth that this is your son, and I will allow you to burn him."
A piece of his liver was lying there, exposed. If any father had been there, he would have broken down in tears. But *Master Amirchand* did not do such a thing.
They knew that if they cried and accepted that this was their son, the British would spit on the names of the other revolutionaries.
Master Sahib drank his tears, looked into the eyes of the British, and said, "This is not my son. I don't know him."
A father left his own young son's corpse as 'orphaned' to save the country's freedom and the lives of his comrades!
A few days later, that is, on May 8, 1915, when *Master Amirchand* was being hanged, there was no fear on his face, but pride. He kissed the noose and said, "I have given everything to Mother India, now just take this life too."
Today we are sitting comfortably in our homes, because these people sacrificed their offspring and their lives. But alas, very few people know the name of *Master Amirchand* today.
If you think that the story of such great heroes should reach every Indian.
"Don't forget such untold stories, it is our duty to promote them."
