Wadiyan Mera Daman.. Song of the day

Let’s start the day and week with Ramniklal J. Dave’s 1968 romantic film *”Abhilasha”*  directed by Amit Bose. 

The film starred Meena Kumari, Sanjay Khan and Nanda. They were supported by Rehman, Kashinath Ghanekar, Sulochna, Tun Tun, Agha, Mohan Choti and Polson. 

Last time Marathi star Kashinath Ghanekar worked in Hindi film.

Meena Kumari plays mother to Kashinath Ghanekar.Both the actors are of the same age.

The producer of the film built a bungalow to Meena Kumari in lieu to her payment.

During my childhood, I got to hear lots of loudspeaker songs ( viz songs blaring out of loudspeakers) where no details of movies, lyrics and music directors were available. Of course that did not prevent one from enjoying these songs. But since these details were not known, one forgot these songs as they stopped being played on loudspeakers.

While listening to the Akashvani FM in my car the orher day, I rediscovered this song once again along with few other gems.  

Today’s  song "Wadiyan Mera Daman" is known for its fantastic composition. This song is picturised in the movie on Sanjay Khan and Nanda.

This song has a Lata version too.

Dil To Hai Dil”

Let’s start the day with Prakash Mehra’s 1978 crime action drama  film *”Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”* directed by Prakash Mehra.  The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rakhee and Rekha. They were supported by Ranjeet, Nirupa Roy, Kadar Khan, Shreeram Lagoo, Ram Sethi, Goga Kapoor, Sulochana and Amjad Khan.  This was Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna's final movie together, ending one of the greatest duos in Bollywood. Before Vinod Khanna's passing, he worked with Bachchan's son Abhishek in Players in 2012. The film's set collapse right after they finished shooting. Hearing the loud thud,the cast came all out from their makeup room too see what happened. It was so serious that had any actor been present,they would have not survived.
