Let’s start the day and week with Premji’s 1966 thriller film *”Mera Saaya”* directed by Raj Khosla. 

The film starred Sunil Dutt and Sadhna. They were supported by Shivraj, Anwar Hussain, K N Singh, Manmohan, Dhumal, Mukri and Prem Chopra. 

The film was remake of Marathi film Pathlag 1964 staring well known actor Kashinath Ghanekar.

It won the Filmfare Best Sound Award for Manohar Amberkar. The songs "Jhumka Gira Re", "Naino Mein Badara Chhaye", "Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega" became Superhit.

 “Mera Saaya” was full of outstanding Lata-Madan Mohan songs that have gone on to become immortal evergreen songs. But pray which of “Mera Saaya” songs became the most popular those days? It was none of these Lata songs, or even the Rafi one.

The song that caught the imagination of the audience those ways was the light hearted song sung by Asha Bhonsle viz “jhumka gira re Bareli ke bazaar me”.

It is difficult to imagine that the racy music of this song was a Madan Mohan composition. Cause of Asha, one might think it’s a O P Nayyar composition. 

This song had finished number 2 in Binaca getmala finals of 1966. This was the best ever performance for a Madan Mohan song in Binaca geetmala till then.

This Asha Bhosle and Sadhna combination Jhumka Girade....Created an history forever important for both Asha Bhonsle and Sadhna, but after 40 years, so sad they took each other to court for property matters.

Saroj Khan was a background dancer behind Sadhna in the song Jhumka Gira Re.

The song Jhumka Gira Re had a new version by Hard Kaur titled Jhumka Gira Re released in 2017.

The song "Jhumka Gira Re" was remade as "What Jhumka?" in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
