Mere Dil Ne Jo Maanga.. Song Review

Let’s start the day with T. Govindarajan & S. Krishnamoorthy’s 1971 action thriller film *”Rakhwala”* directed by Adurthi Subba Rao. 

The film starred Dharmendra, Leena Chandavarkar and Vinod Khanna. They were supported by Madan Puri, Jagdeep and Rakesh Pandey. 

This film was a remake of the hit Tamil film "Kaavalkaaran" (1967) starring M.G. Ramachandran and Jayalalitha.

Rakhwala was successful movie of year 1971.

This film has been forgotten by now, but it was a decent movie with great music.

The film, "had its bright moments in the presence of Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna, two evergreen stars of Indian cinema

Here is a song that is bound to cheer up its listeners. “Mere dil ne jo maangaa mil gayaa”- what superb lyrics (Hasrat Jaipuri), what lovely music (Kalyanji Anandji) and what beautiful and joyous rendering by Lata.

This song is picturised on Leena Chandawarkar and Dharmendra. In addition to bringing old memories back, this song is a reminder of the days when the quality of music was at its zenith.

Let’s start the day with Prakash Mehra’s 1978 crime action drama  film *”Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”* directed by Prakash Mehra.  The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rakhee and Rekha. They were supported by Ranjeet, Nirupa Roy, Kadar Khan, Shreeram Lagoo, Ram Sethi, Goga Kapoor, Sulochana and Amjad Khan.  This was Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna's final movie together, ending one of the greatest duos in Bollywood. Before Vinod Khanna's passing, he worked with Bachchan's son Abhishek in Players in 2012. The film's set collapse right after they finished shooting. Hearing the loud thud,the cast came all out from their makeup room too see what happened. It was so serious that had any actor been present,they would have not survived.
