Na Yeh Chand Hoga" Song Review

Let’s start the day with Filmistan’s 1954 film *”Shart”* directed by B Mitra.

The film starred Shyama, and Deepak. They were supported by Moolchand, Mohana, Chaman Puri and I S Johar.

Remake of Stranger On a Train.

In a scene where Deepak (Robin) & Shyama (Kamini) are listening to songs on a radio, Kamini tunes the radio to play a song "Mere dil ko tadpake kahan chale". This song is from the movie Shabnam (1949) also directed by B.Mitra.

Today’s song has two versions. Female version is sung by Geeta Dutt and picturised on Shyama. Male version is sung by Hemant Kumar and picturised on Deepak.

It is not advisable to compare the two. Instead, it is advisable to savour both the versions. This song has gone on to become an iconic song. The lyrics of this song must be one of the most well known lyrics that S H Bihari ever wrote. The music was composed by Hemant Kumar and it was just his second movie as a music director. This movie was preceded by “Anandmath” and followed by “Nagin”. That was the kind of music Hemant Kumar was creating those days.
