Jinhe Hum Bhoolna Chaahen

Let’s start the day with
B. L. Rawal’s 1968 romantic crime drama film *”Aabroo”*  story by  G. L. Rawal directed by C. L. Rawal.

The film starred Ashok Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Rehman, Vimi, Leela Naidu, Jeevan, Lalita Pawar, Tun Tun and Shashikala.

This often happens with me. I listen to songs of a movie I know little about, and then find out that the movie contained one outstanding song after another.

There were many such movies, especially those that were produced in 1960s and 1970s. Movies like “Kaajal”, “Dosti”, “Dil ne phir yaad kiya”,”Anokhi raat”, “Adhikaar”, “Samadhi”… etc etc. were some of the examples.

Saraswatichandra which I posted day before is also one of the example.

Another movie like that where little is known about the movie or its actors but the movie boasted of awesome songs has to be “Aabroo” (1968). This movie has great songs coming out one after other as if rolling off an assembly line.

Most songs in this movie are sung by Rafi, and they are all outstanding songs. But there is one song that is sung by Mukesh, and it has to be regarded as an iconic Mukesh song.

This song “Jinhe ham bhoolna chaahen, wo aksar yaad aate hai” has been sung by Mukesh with his characteristic midas touch. G L Rawal has written such a beautiful song. Sonik Omi, who created wonderful music whenever they got an opportunity to work as independent music directors have shown their calibre in this song as they always did.

*"Jinhe Hum Bhoolna Chaahen"* lyrics by G L Rawal, composed by Sonik Omi and sung by Mukesh🎤🎵🎶🎧
