Beautiful Song of the Day

Let’s start the day with Tarachand Barjatya 1952 film *”Aarti”* directed by Phani Majumdar.

The film starred Meena Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Pradeep Kumar. They were supported by Shashikala, Rajendranath, Keshto Mukherjee, Peace Kanwal and Ramesh Deo.

First film produced by Rajshri Productions.

Tarachand Barjatya wanted to do the film with newcomers.

Sanjeev Kumar was signed in the lead role. After a disappointing screen test, he was replaced.

“Aarti” had some wonderful songs, and I am posting these songs now a days.

In this song “baar baar tohe kya samjhaaye”, Meena Kumari and Pradeep Kumar watch a lady sining and dancing this song. Meena Kumari then starts singing this song. Pradeep Kumar too later joins in singing this song.

This song is based on folk music. And the song is a very joyous song. The listeners listening to this song feel the urge to stand up and dance, that is how infectious the music and the voices are in this song.

This song is a great example of a folk music based movie song that keeps the listeners enthralled throughout the duration of the song.

*"Baar Baar Tohe Kya Samjhaaye Paayal Ki Jhankaar"* lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by Roshan and by Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi 🎤🎶🎼🎵
