Do the Right Thing!

Dear Friends

Happy Evening

Let us look at the following example:

Suppose one is asked to play the game of chess.

How should he play the game?

He should play the game following the rules of chess.

That means he is doing the right things.

He is effective in applying and following the rules.

Therefore he is doing the right things.

But he is definitely not following his heart.

Our heart may say many things.

One day our heart may want us to go for shopping

One day our heart may want us to go for a movie and so on.

We cannot all the time satisfy the desires of our heart.

Because our heart is the emotional part of our brain.

What our heart tells us may or may not be correct all the time.

Only in certain instances only we can be guided by our heart.

Whatever the heart may tell us, we have to do only the right things.

Our heart may tell us not to follow the rules when playing chess.

Is it right?

Suppose we are piloting an aeroplane.

We have to follow a procedure to ensure safe flight.

Here heart cannot have a different desire.

What is meant by doing the right thing?

We have to follow the right path.

Take the right decision and make the right choice.

We have to follow the rules of ethics and be guided by values.

For example, a high level diplomat refuses a huge bribe.

He will definitely earn respect from his fellow country man.

People will criticise or appreciate our work even in a small family.

People will throw stones or flower garlands for our deeds.

People may either make us famous or put us down.

We should not bother about them.

We should not also listen to our heart.

On several occasions, what our heart says is not correct.

We can listen to the heart, but we should be guided by our intellect.

We should always do only the right thing guided by ethics and

be driven by values

I wish you a Pleasant Evening and

Wishing you a joyful festival

Kind Regards
