Humor in English Lanuage

Dear Friends
Happy Morning

English language is one of the most important and 
widely spoken languages in the world. 
It is a very confusing language in the world.
One has to be very cautious and careful, 
both while writing and speaking English.
English language usage has humor in it

Following are some examples:
 There is no “egg” in the “eggplant”.
No “ham” in the “hamburger”,
There is neither “pine” nor “apple” in the “pineapple”!
“English muffins” were not invented in “England”.
“French fries” were not invented in “France”
.If a vegetarian eats “vegetables”,
What will the “humanitarian” eat!?
The “boxing rings” are “square”.
People “recite” at a play yet “play” at a recital
We “park” on driveways and “drive” on the parkways?

We ship by “truck” but send cargo by “ship”.
Our noses “run” and feet “smell”.
“Slim chance” and a “fat chance” are the same
But “wise man” and “wise guy” are opposites

We have to marvel at the unique lunacy of this language.
English was invented by people, not  by computers. 
It reflects the creativity of the human race.
