Sharing a short story.

Title: Think Differently

In an upcoming company there were four employees

who were on the same scale of pay,

The employer was confused about who should be promoted.

So he the assignment of testing the four employees to his secretary.

By the side of the office, there was a huge river.

The secretary called the first employee and asked him to swim across.

Without any hesitation, the first employ swam across the river

and came back.

The secretary said, “Good Job done”

Now it is the turn of the second employee.

The secretary tells him to swim across the river.

He too enjoyed swimming in the river.

But he saw an old man struggling to swim.

 He helped him to swim across the river and

reports back to the secretary.

The secretary said, “You have done a great job.”

The third employee is a smart guy.

Before the task of swimming was assigned,

He gathered all the  information about the pool from the

first and the second employee.

He prepared a file how he is going to swim across the river.

He planned his work.

When he was given the task, he swam across the river smoothly

 He reported back to the secretary with the file and  his

experience of swimming as final report

The secretary said, “Excellent Job”.

When the fourth employee was called and given the task,

he said “I need time”

He took the report of the third employee.

He studied the file. He measured the vastness of the river.

He decided to construct a bridge across the river.

Called the labourers. Within a week, he finished the

construction of the bridge.

He went to secretary and said, sir, “I don’t have to swim.

I can walk through the bridge”.

The secretary said, “You have done an outstanding job and

you are promoted”

Reflections:

The first two employees mechanically swam and crossed the river.

The third employee made a little difference. He created a procedure.

The fourth employee acted wisely. He was an out of the box thinker.

He constructed a bridge across the river by thinking differently.

This bridge will help people of all age groups to a large extent.

Therefore the fourth employee gets his promotion.

Moral: When a task is given think differently.

The person who think differently will lead
