Jab Se Tumko Dekha".. Song Review

Let’s start the day with Iqbal Singh’s 1981 action thriller film *”Kaalia”* written & directed by Tinnu Anand.

The film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Praveen Babi. They were supported by Asha Parekh, Amjad Khan, Kader Khan, Purnima, K. N. Singh, Sajjan, Murad, Sudhir, Ram Sethi, Ranjit Chowdhry, Yunus Pervez, Dev Kumari, Jagdeep, Bob Christo, Raza Murad, Anjan Srivastav and Pran.

Tinnu Anand was chasing Amitabh Bachchan for a year to narrate his script, from studio to studio, and every time Amitabh would say not today, tomorrow, due to the fact he had a really busy schedule. Finally, Tinnu had cornered Amitabh on the sets of Don and finally narrated his script. When Tinnu finished, Amitabh was silent. Tinnu said, "You don't have to tell me that you like my script because I know you like it very much." Amitabh was surprised and asked, "How do you know that? "Tinnu replied, "Before I came, a few people told me that if Amitabh Bachchan is hearing a script and he looks towards the sky and he starts stroking his hair, it means your script is rejected. I am glad you did neither while I was narrating the script.' Amitabh Bachchan liked Tinnu's confidence and signed the project.

It was later remade in Kannada in 1984 as Huliyaada Kaala starring Tiger Prabhakar and in Tamil in 1987 as Cooliekkaran starring Vijayakanth.

The film was another classic from Bachchan's "angry young man" era and helped cement his status as a superstar.

This was the only movie that Amitabh Bachchan and Asha Parekh featured together although not as a lead pair with the actress playing his brother's wife.

Inder Raj Anand wrote the dialogues of Kaalia. Tinnu Anand is Inder Raj's Anand"s son. Tinnu Anand was Satyajeet Ray's assistant. Tinnu Anand"s real name is Veerendra Anand.

The film fell victim to Parveen Babi erratic behavior. She went missing for a few months causing major delays in the production.

The song is picturised on Parveen Baby , Amitabh Bachchan and two kids, Baby Geeta and Baby Khushboo. Usha Rege and Antara Chaudhary are the two child voices in the song.

*"Jab Se Tumko Dekha"* lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri, composed by R. D. Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle 🎤🎶🎵🎧
