             — 𝘉𝘩𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘥 𝘎𝘪𝘵𝘢 9.33

This is one of the most powerful verses of the Bhagavad Gita, summarising the nature of the material world.

𝘈𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺𝘢𝘮 — 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵
𝘈𝘴𝘶𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘮 — 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘫𝘰𝘺
𝘓𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘮 — 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦

Lord Krishna makes it clear: nothing in this changing world can provide permanent happiness. However, Krishna is not saying there is no happiness. He is awakening us to reality.... reality that everything is bound to change. People change. Situations change. Even our feelings change — One moment we feel hopeful, loving, inspired and happy. Another moment, the same situation feels different. What once gave joy may later give pain. And this is true for relationships, possessions, achievements and circumstances.

The problem is not enjoyment, dear friends. The problem is attachment. Krishna is simply reminding us of the nature of life: Enjoy what comes. Appreciate people. Value happy moments. But do not cling so tightly that you feel you cannot live.
