Aaya Hai Mujhe Phir Yaad"*..Song of the Day
Let’s start the day and week with Mohan Sehgal’s 1966 drama film *”Devar”* directed by Mohan Sehgal.
The film starred Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore. They were supported by Shashikala, Deven Verma, Lalita Kumari, Durga Khote, Sulochna, Braham Bhardwaj, Sapru and Tarun Bose.
The film is based on the short novel Naa by the Bengali writer Tara Shankar Bandopadhyay.
This novel was already adapted into a 1954 Bengali film of the same name, and the 1962 Tamil movie Padithaal Mattum Podhuma.
The film is remarkable for projecting the ironic twists of fate in an unconventional format with the lead pair bound to the 'wrong' spouses till the very end.
One of the films where Deven Verma played a villain. He may have played a villain but many left the theatre wondering how such a good looking, suave man could have such a complex.
Today’s song is unlikely to be forgotten with time. It is simply timeless. Mukesh’s haunting voice and Anand Bakshi’s Shailendra like lyrics, not to forget Roshan’s timeless music, has seen to it.
*"Aaya Hai Mujhe Phir Yaad"* lyrics by Anand Bhakshi, composed by Roshan and sung by Mukesh 🎤🎶🎵🎧
