Baharon Mera Jeevan Bhi Sanwaro" Song Review

Let’s start the day with Himalaya Film’s 1966 drama film *”Aakhri Khat”* written and directed by Chetan Anand.

The film starred Rajesh Khanna and Indrani Mukherjee. They were supported by Master Bunty, Nana Palsikar, Manvendra Chitnis, Mohan Choti and Tun Tun.

Aakhri Khat was Rajesh Khanna's first release, followed by Raaz.

This was Rajesh Khanna's debut film. He was offered "Raaz" (1967) earlier but it was released only the next year. Khanna landed the lead role in this Chetan Anand film by winning a talent contest conducted by Filmfare and a consortium of film producers who had come together to form a banner called United Producers. As a winner of this contest, Rajesh Khanna got the opportunity to feature in films by each of these producers. Other than Anand, this group of producers included G.P. Sippy, B.R. Chopra, Shakti Samanta, Nasir Husain, and Bimal Roy.

The film was remade in Tamil as "Poonthalir" (1979) and in Telugu as "Chinnari Chitti Babu" (1981).

Aakhri Khat was the India's official entry under Best Foreign Language Film category from India at the 40th Academy Awards (1968). It was nominated under the name 'The Last Letter'.

I had heard this song as a child, but I never came to know what movie this song was from, till a few days ago.

what a beautiful song it is. Written by Kaifi Azmi and composed by Khayyam, it is a song that tugs at the heart strings of the listeners be they young or old. And I loved this song when I first listened to it as a pre teen kid.

The song is picturised on an unbelivably young looking Rajesh Khanna and on Indrani Mukherjee.
