Film n Song Review

Let’s start the day with L. B. Lachman’s 1956 romantic comedy film *”Chori Chori”* directed by Anant Thakur. 

The film starred Raj Kapoor and Nargis. They were supported by Johnny Walker, David, Gope, Mukri, Bhagwan and Pran. 

Inspired by the classic Hollywood film 'It Happened One Night' directed by Frank Capra.

Raj Kapoor and Nargis were paired as leads for the last time, the same year Nargis made a special appearance in the climax of 'Jagte Raho' (1956).

This movie was remade as 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin' in 1991 with Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles; like this one, it turned out to be a major hit.

This is a film that is still remembered for its music. This was a rare movie where Manna Dey had sung the songs picturised on Raj Kapoor and those songs had become very popular.

The female playback singer of this movie was Lata of course, and she too had come up with some mewmorable songs in this movie.

Grimes song "Rasik" sampled the song "Rasik Balmaa" from Chori Chori.

Here is a Lata classic from this movie. “Rasik Balma dil kyun lagaaya”. What a melodious song! Written by Hasrat Jaipuri and composed by Shankar Jaikishan, this song was picturised on Nargis. The song can still hold you spellbound, if listened under the right conditions, viz under “chayageet” conditions. 

One can only say one thing. They do not make songs like this anymore.

     इस अंग्रेजी फिल्म का रूपांतरण 1956 में महानतम राजकपूर ने कि था।

      टेक्निकल और अभिनय के दृष्टिकोण से 

"इट हेपन्ड वन नाइट" से लाख गुना बेहतरीन फिल्म थी।

*राजकपूर और नर्गिस* के बेमिसाल अभिनय की और ब्लाकबस्टर गीत आज भी सुपर हिट है। इस जोड़ी की यह अंतिम फिल्म थी।।

                      

                      *चोरी-चोरी* 

महेश भटूरे ने इसकी अति घटिया जिराक्स कापी बनाई थी।
