Dil To Hai Dil”
The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rakhee and Rekha. They were supported by Ranjeet, Nirupa Roy, Kadar Khan, Shreeram Lagoo, Ram Sethi, Goga Kapoor, Sulochana and Amjad Khan.
This was Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna's final movie together, ending one of the greatest duos in Bollywood. Before Vinod Khanna's passing, he worked with Bachchan's son Abhishek in Players in 2012.
The film's set collapse right after they finished shooting. Hearing the loud thud,the cast came all out from their makeup room too see what happened. It was so serious that had any actor been present,they would have not survived.
The only film of Prakash Mehra and Amitabh in which Amitabh dies in the end.
At first the producers wanted to offer the role of Vinod Khana to Shatrughan Sinha.Later it was felt that the role should be given to someone who is good looking than Amitabh Bachchan as the actress of the movie would decline Amitabh Bachchan over someone good looking than him. So,Vinod Khanna was finalised.
Goofs:
When Amitabh meets Raakhee as an adult his position changes suddenly in the shot.
Amitabh is shown fully drunk while driving his car but then gets sober after an accident.
Amitabh and Amjad Khan are shown fighting in the night in Pre climax but Vinod Khanna is shown chasing Ranjeet and goons in daylight at the same time.
The film was Amitabh's back to back release in April 1978, other films being Don, Kasme Vaade and Trishul all did well, ironically he died in Don,Kasme Vaade and this film.
Muqaddar Ka Sikander & Shaarabi had best dialogues by Kader Khan. Both films were made by Prakash Mehra.
During the song sequence Dil To Hai Dil.......Once its shown Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee in the snow. Actually Amitabh Bachchan shot with a double and that scene showing Rakhee was shot in studio in Mumbai.
