In our country monkeys are worshiped as God Hanuman.

Special temples are dedicated for Lord Hanuman.

 

Why this practice?

Indians are not forgetting Darwin’s theory of evolution

According to this theory, man has evolved from monkeys.

Monkeys become our ancestors.

Worshipping the ancestors is the custom all over the world

We have gone  one step further and  constructed  temples.

 

All God’s creations have to be treated respectfully if we want the

human kind to thrive eternally.

This simple fact is celebrated in the Kerala village Thrikaripur.

 

In this village temple monkeys are served an elaborate feast on the

day after the onam day.

The food is served in plantain leaf where a canopy or

pandal is constructed for this special occasion.


Tables are put with chairs. Monkeys are made to sit in their seats.

Then food is served. Ten different types of dishes made of banana,

plantain, melons, beetroot, grapes, guava, chukku and pineapple

along with water to delight the monkeys.

On this day many people from the surrounding villages throng

the temple to witness the feast.

This practice is going on for the last 12 years.



A similar type of festival, where monkeys are celebrated is held

every year on the last Sunday of the month November is Lobpuri, Thailand.

 

Lopburi Monkey Banquet is one of the biggest festivals in Thailand,

held annually in Lopburi province.

According to some famous newspapers in the world,

this festival is the strangest festival in the world.

In Thailand, monkeys are considered a sacred type of animal.

Therefore, this festival is held exclusively for them.

 

At 10 am, the Lopburi Monkey Banquet Festival will begin.

First, the waiter will bring the tables to the temple yard.

On the table, there are many different colors of fruits and monkeys.

More than 600 monkeys dancing on the welcome tables as a

display to welcome visitors to this place.

 

After the opening of the festival, fruits and desserts and drinks,

soft drinks are placed on the table around the temple.

The little monkeys pulled together to enjoy the party in a delicious way.

This image is said to be unique and interesting, loved by many visitors.

During the party, there are many foods and fruits.

However, monkeys will certainly like bananas the most.

Watching monkeys scramble for bananas also makes visitors excited.

The monkeys here are quite mischievous, they play freely,

especially imitating tourists, or playing with tourists' bags.

Besides, the eye-catching acrobatics that they perform will surely

leave visitors with unforgettable impressions.

 

Humans are the advanced species on this planet. It is our duty

and responsibility to take care of other animals of this rich

biodiversity. We shall not celebrate monkeys..

Every animal of this planet should be celebrated to prevent

endangerment and extinction of species.


If we celebrate every species of plants and animals

then we are celebrating life of this planet.
