Save Polar Bears!!!

💙Recently there was a news item  in daily newspapers that arctic glaciers are melting at a faster rate than  the usual due to global warming climate change and environmental degradation.💙


💛This environmental problem has resulted in the endangerment of polar bears and other arctic animals living in that region.💛

 

💚Polar bears are stocky, with a long neck. They have a small head, short, rounded ears.

Male is bigger  than the female. They have very short tail.  

Polar bears usually look white.but it is not so., Their fur isn't white . 💚


🧡Their skin is black. It looks white due to light effects on the arctic ice.

The white color illusion gives them a camouflage helps the bear to hide  itself from its predator.

The black skin, helps the animal to absorb heat from the sun. They have translucent fur.

 The air trapped inside scatters light and makes the bear look pale. Under the skin the animal has a layer of insulating fat to protect itself from the cold weather conditions of arctic.🧡

 

💜They have broad feet and have hairy soles to protect and insulate as well as to facilitate movement across ice.

Polar bears are carnivorous, feeding especially on the ringed seal but also on the bearded seal and other pinnipeds. 💜


🧡 They feed mostly on aquatic animals. Therefore, they are excellent swimmers.


They are found throughout the arctic region. They are the largest and the powerful animal. They don’t fear humans.🧡

 

💛Polar bears have an excellent sense of smell. They can detect seals nearly a mile away. 


Polar bears can walk with a speed of  40 kph on land and can swim upto 10 kph  in water.💛


💜Two cubs are born to mother bear at a time. The gestation period is 105 to 265 days.

 

This animal is now endangered because arctic ice is melting at a faster rate due to climate change and global warming.💜

 

💙But it is our duty to protect the animal because ecological food web should not get disturbed. 

If there is an endangerment  of one species human life will be disturbed.

So we have to stop the rise of greenhouse gases and stop the warming of the planet.  💙


💚We should learn to live in harmony with Nature without harming it or disturbing it.

Save Planet. Save Arctic. Save polar bears.💚
