😍Title: Practise what you Preach😍

💚In a small town lived a temple priest. He was advising the people of the town about religious practices. He was giving examples from religious scriptures and stories from epics to emphasise his teachings. People were thinking that he was a wise man.💚

🦜One day when he was returning home from the temple he saw a man selling birds. He purchased a bird with a cage to make a dish out of it and to eat. The bird was beautiful.  He was thinking about the taste of the bird after cooking it.🦜

🦜The bird could understand his thoughts and said, “Don’t have such thoughts”. The priest was surprised. The bird went on:🦜

🦜“I am not an  ordinary bird. I am priest and the advisor to  my flock.🦜

🦜I can give you three pieces of advice  if you promise to release me”🦜

💛The priest said: ‘Okay, you give me three pieces of advice and I will set you free.’💛

🦜The bird agreed and said:🦜

🧡“My first advice – never believe in any absurdity even if it is told by a great man or a man of power or authority”.🧡

💙“My second advice is never try to do the impossible, because then you will be a failure. So always know your limits: one who knows his limitations is wise. One who goes beyond his limits is a fool.”💙

💜“My third advice is, if you do something good, never repent, only repent that what is bad.”💜

😍The priest felt the advice were wonderful and beautiful. So he set the bird free. He also thought that he should use the bird’s advice in his talks with the people to mend them.😍

🦜As soon as he set the bird free, it flew. The bird perched on a tree and said to him, ‘You fool, I have got a very precious diamond in my belly. Had you killed me you would have become the richest man in the world.’🦜

💚The priest felt sorry for letting the bird free. He tried to catch the bird by climbing the tree in spite of the fact that he did not know how to climb the tree.💚

🌴As he climbed higher, the bird would fly to another branch. Finally the bird reached the very top when the priest put his hand to catch the bird, he missed his step and fell down.  He could not get up as his legs were fractured.🌴

🦜The flying bird landed on the lower branch and told him:🦜

🌹‘Now, first you believed me, that a bird can have a precious diamond in its belly. Have you ever heard such an absurdity!🌹

🌻You tried the impossible task. You have never climbed a tree.🌻

🌿And when a bird is free, how can you catch it with bare hands?🌿

🍁You repented in your heart, feeling that you had done wrong when you had done a good deed, you had made me free!🍁

🦜Moral: Those who preach  should follow their teachings.🦜
